One of the biggest surprises and crowd pleasing timepieces found at this year’s Baselworld 2019 was the new “Bell & Ross Bellytanker Bronze”, which integrates their “Vintage Collection”. For starters this watch doesn’t even come with the brands iconic “circle in square” design, highly recognizable among horology enthusiasts. Chopard’s Mille Miglia collection debuted a pair of new editions in steel or steel and 18k rose gold for their motorsport-inspired watches at Baselworld 2019. Just like clockwork Italy has hosted these classic vintage car races for over 40 years, since it was rebooted in 1977; with Chopard releasing accompanying timepieces for most of this run, covering over a three decade long and still on-going partnership. Patek Philippe unveiled the new classic chronograph 5172G model at Baselworld 2019. This announcement signifies an addition to their catalog, while replacing the entire reference 5170. Although the new reference is more a mix of several previous Patek models than just an upgrade to its predecessor; Patek Philippe has nonetheless chosen this hybrid timepiece as their new chronograph. In the latest Bell & Ross creation for Baselworld 2019 they have looked passed the cockpit instrumentation to seek out inspiration elsewhere. Their search landed on the US Air Force’s groundbreaking icon of pilot apparel, the MA-1 flight jacket.  The “BR 03-92 MA-1” watch has been designed to pay tribute to the US Air Force’s now-legendary MA-1 “bomber” jacket. Tudor released several timepieces at Baselworld 2019, but the most divisive piece came in the form of the new “Tudor Black Bay P01”.
