During this year’s Baselworld 2019 there was another classic that got expanded with two new editions. The iconic “Patek Philippe Nautilus” in its smaller ladies model was expanded to now include two 18k rose gold models with differing dials.

Until now the range of options for ladies within the 7118 reference was limited to steel or rose gold with diamonds. But, with this newly released pair they have widened their selection in a logical manner.

Previously available stainless-steel models.

Despite their gold nature these are still more casual options, compared to their diamond-studded predecessors.

Previously available 18k rose gold models with diamonds.

So that slightly less “bling” look, plus the fact that any of the previous models were already placed on a waiting list that could stretch out over a decade! Makes any addition that increases the obtainability of a Patek Philippe Nautilus, as a much appreciated release by those that have been seeking them out to no resolve in the current marketplace.

The 35.2mm case is made of 18k rose gold with a transparent case back, which allows to view the inner workings of the mechanical movement.

Mounted to the case is a satin brushed bezel that harmoniously contrasts with the polish finish of the overall case.

What we have here is the iconic Gérald Genta design, but in a smaller size than the more common 40mm and upwards versions for men’s watches.

It also includes a setting-crown that has been embossed with the iconic Maltese cross used by Patek Philippe. All topped by a sapphire crystal that assists with water resistance on this watch reaching up to 60 meters (196 feet).

Time comes exhibited on either a: golden brown opaline or silvery opaline dial. Both version come with gold applied hour index markers and a single Arabic numeral at the 12 o’clock position; while circling around the periphery of the dials circumference are a series of small gold dotted minute index markers.

The dial is also permeated with wavy lines all throughout its backdrop, which attributes it with a more feminine design and distinguishes it from the larger men’s models.

The central gold applied hands and hour index markers have been fitted with a luminescent coating, for an enhanced legibility. This a very simple dial that manages to exude a sumptuous presence due to its golden aura. On the upper-half we find he “PATEK PHILIPPE GENEVE” inscription plaque; while in a very small white font we can read “SWISS MADE” underneath a white date aperture with black numerals at the 6 o’clock position.

Patek Philippe Ladies Automatic Nautilus

This “Patek Philippe Ladies Automatic Nautilus” (References below) is powered by a self-winding mechanical movement, caliber 324 SC with 29 jewels, 213 parts and 28,800 vph. It comes equipped with a gold rotor that can be admired via the exhibition case back. Power reserve on this watch can last up to 45 hours, when fully wound.

Mounted to the watch is an 18k rose gold bracelet, secured to the wrist by a rose gold fold-over clasp with an integrated adjustment system. Just like the case and bezel this bracelet combines polished and satin finishes.
