First up let’s focus on this pair: the PAM 1043 (38mm) & 1046 (42mm) are both housed in a stainless-steel case with a polished finish. On the flip-side we encounter a solid steel case back engraved with technical details.

Mounted to these cases is a contrasting polished steel fixed bezel. They also include the Luminor Marina style winding crown protection with the setting-crown nestled within. All topped by a sapphire crystal that also assists with water-resistance reaching up to 30 meters (98 feet).
Pam1046_Cat_Dett02_1934890Time is exhibited on a white dial with beige numerals and the Arabic numerals 6 and 12. Unlike the blue sunray dialed models, these versions do not use the iconic Panerai “sandwich dial”. There is also a sub-seconds dial aligned with the 9 o’clock position and a date aperture at the 3 o’clock spot. The central steel hands, as well as the sub-seconds hand, hour index markers and Arabic numerals have all undergone a luminescent coating, for an enhanced legibility.

The PAM 1045 comes in a smaller 38mm case made of polished Goldtech™ with a brushed finish and a see-through sapphire exhibition caseback, which allows to view the inner workings of the mechanical movement. As we’ve reviewed before this proprietary alloy designated as Goldtech™, consists of gold mixed with a percentage of copper that imbues the material with a rich and subtle red hue. It also contains platinum, which attributes the material with the capacity to prevent oxidizing and expanding its overall lifetime. In terms of looks the end result is a mid-way between the traditional yellow and rose gold tones. Mounted to the case is a unifying polished Goldtech™ fixed bezel. All topped by a sapphire crystal that also assists with water-resistance reaching up to 30 meters (98 feet).

Panerai-Due-38-GoldtechTime here is also exhibited on a white dial with beige numerals and the Arabic numerals 6 and 12. This is the same layout as found on the majority of these new Due releases (minus the sandwich dial feature), but is made unique by is proprietary alloy, the aforementioned Goldtech™.
