Omega is taking us back to the “stone age” with this latest release, while still keeping up with current times. Introducing the “Omega Seamaster 300 Co-Axial Master Chronometer” with a mesmerizing green malachite dial.
Previously Omega has been as audacious as to incorporate a lunar meteorite into models such as the “Grey Side of the Moon” (Ref#: 311.63.44.51.99.001) you can review here or as they featured on the sub-dials of the “Speedmaster Monwatch 321 Platnum” (Ref#: 311-93-42-20-90-001) seen here. But, an also good back reference to this current model is the “Seamaster 300 Co-Axial Master Chronometer” (Ref#: 234.93.41.21.99.002) platinum edition with its “lapis lazuli” stone carved dial.

The 41mm case has been made out of 18k yellow gold with a transparent case back, which allows you to view the inner workings of the mechanical movement. But, it is worth mentioning that a platinum version of this model is also available with a heftier price-tag, as you can consult here.
Mounted to the case a green ceramic bezel with an Omega Ceragold™ diving scale, with a riveted circumference to enhance its grip ability. It also comes equipped with long protruding lugs for a comfortable wrist fit, plus a screw-in setting-crown. Despite this “Seamaster” missing the typically included helium escape-valve, water-resistance on this watch is still capable of reaching up to 300 meters (1000 feet).
Time is exhibited on a deep green dial with hour index markers, followed by thin gold-toned minute markings and the Arabic numerals: 3, 6, 9 and 12. But, by far the highlight of this watch resides in this captivating dial that has been made from the precious malachite stone. Each model will bear slightly differentiating patterns emanating from the stones natural composition. A quite unique design at the intersection of nature and mechanics.
This timepiece also features Omega’s iconic broad arrow hands made out of 18k yellow gold. These central hands, plus the hour index markers have all been filled with a “vintage” Super-LumiNova for a classic look, as well as enhancing its legibility.
With such an impressive looking dial Omega wisely has opted to leave most of this canvas unencumbered by other embellishments or complications. They have only featured the bare essentials by including the “OMEGA” logo and “Seamaster” with its characteristics cursive font, displayed on the upper-half of the dial in gold.

The “Omega Seamaster 300 Co-Axial Master Chronometer” (Ref#: 234.63.41.21.99.001) is powered by a self-winding mechanical movement, caliber 8913 with 39 jewels and 25,200 Vph. It is based on the original 8900 caliber, but without the date display. This is also a METAS-certified Master chronometer. Power reserve on this watch can last up to 60 hours, when fully wound.
Mounted to the watch is a green leather scaled strap with a black underside, while secured to the wrist by an 18k yellow gold push-button deployant clasp. It is also available with a gold bracelet. For more up to date information visit the official Omega website here.
