The year 2016 marks the 85th anniversary of the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso, which has been one of the best-selling watches ever by any brand. A design that had its inception by catering to polo players that feared a damaging blow to their wrist. Expanded far beyond that to being acquired and cherished by various types of horologists.

Right now at SIHH 2016 JLC has been unveiling some homage watches to reinvigorate the Reverso model line. One of these is the “Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Duo” (Ref#: 3908420). The 25mm stainless steel iconic rectangular case conceals two dials. On one side we have a silver opaline dial with blue steel index markers and dauphine style hands. While the other side reveals a darker blue, velvety Clous de Paris guilloché, with a day-night indication. This watch is powered by a manual-winding movement, caliber 854A/2, with 19 jewels and 160 moving parts. The power reserve on this timepiece can last up to 45 hours.

Another new edition tribute piece to the Reverso model line is the “Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Calendar” (Ref#: 3912420). This edition adds a calendar function that displays the date and moon-phases in a sub-dial at the 6 o’clock position. While the current weekday and month are displayed in two windows between the logo and the 12 o’clock position. On a silver-white dial with gold index markers and dauphine style hands.

Once we flip over to the other side, we’re greeted by a second time-zone dial and a day-night indicator. This dial is an anthracite guilloché with gold highlights. This model will be available in 18k pink gold, with a 30mm case. This “Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Calendar” is powered by a manually-wound mechanical movement, caliber 853, with 19 jewels and 280 moving parts.

JLC also goes “big” with a “Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Classic Large Duoface” (Ref#: 3832420). The 28mm steel or pink gold case, stretches to 47mm in height, One side features a silver, vertically brushed guilloché dial, with black transferred Arabic numerals. While the backside exhibits a black dial with struck index markers and the words “Home Town” for the second time-zone at the 6 o’clock position.

This Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Classic Large Duoface is powered by an automatic self-winding mechanical movement, caliber 969, with 30 jewels and 229 moving parts. The power reserve on this edition only lasts up to 38 hours.

And JLC had to add some gold to the mix and they did in various sizes. The “Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Classic Duetto” (Ref#:2572120) will be available in small or medium, in either stainless steel or the pictured 18k pink gold versions. Both of them will feature he diamond set Recto side with a secondary black dial.

The only that changes with size is the caliber of the movement. The small versions will be powered by the hand-wound mechanical movement, caliber 844. While the medium version shall be powered by the automatic self-winding movement, caliber 968A. There other variables that can be add or subtracted from the mix. Such as adding a leather strap or opting for the solid 18k pink gold bracelet.
