
To further assistant in the celebration of their 185th anniversary, Jaeger-LeCoultre has released a very limited-edition of their iconic “Reverso” model equipped with a brand new in-house mechanical movement capable of expressing two time-zone on each dial. Let’s take a closer look at this simply complicated novel “Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Tourbillon Duoface”.
This new release brings to mind the impressive “Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Gyrotourbillon” (Ref#: 3946420) limited to only 75 manufactured pieces, which also featured a tourbillon and was crafted out of platinum. But, its uniqueness was linked to the novel registered trademark tourbillon. While this new release stands out from previous models due to the capabilities to track a total of four distinct time-zones at once.

Now the newly released “Jaeger-LeCoultre Tribute Tourbillon Duoface” comes in what appears to be the standard iconic Reverso case capable of flipping over to reveal two distinct sides. But, in actuality it’s been crafted in an atypical 27.4mm case that makes it smaller in size compared to other Reverso’s, which tend to measure at least 29 or 30mm; although there are smaller Reverso models available at 23mm, with the smaller models coming in at 21mm. JLC has opted to make this Reverso out of platinum, just like the aforementioned “Reverso Tribute Gyrotourbillon”. Both sides of this watch are topped by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal that also assists with water-resistance on it being able to reach up to 30 meters (98 feet).

On the “recto” face which is the regular side (with the crown falling to the right side of the case) time is exhibited on a blue sun-brushed dial with platinum applied hour index markers, followed by smaller white printed railroad-motif minute index markers on its perimeter.
Then on the lower-half we find a sixty-second flying tourbillon, which functions as a seconds display, plus the “Duoface” functionality in its midst that allows the single movement to indicate an extra time-zone on each of its two dial faces.
While on the flipside, the “verso” face is mainly skeletonized and exhibits time on a small silver dial with hour index markers, followed by a series of smaller black printed railroad-motif minute index markers on its perimeter. It also includes its side of the sixty-second flying tourbillon and they’ve added a day-night indicator at the 2 o’clock position.
While the original fans of this model were the polo players that appreciated the possibility of flipping between the dial side and a solid-back side, when they were engaging in their sporting activities. Many other fans of this particular JLC model have been so due to its two-in-one design, which is almost like having two watches in one, to switch back and forth between. But, this is the first time that it can actually support 4 time-zones in one! Quite an alluring feature for a constant world traveler or global online entrepreneur.

This “Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Tourbillon Duoface” (Ref#: Q3926480) is powered by a hand-wound mechanical movement, caliber 847 which is a brand new caliber and the first to blend the flying tourbillon with the “Duoface concept” as stated by the official Jaeger-LeCoultre press release. Its grand novelty resides in the aforementioned ability to display two time-zones on each of its dial sides, besides other complications.
Mounted to the watch is a blue alligator scaled leather strap with exposed matching colored stitching, while secured to the wrist by a platinum JLC deployment buckle.
