For Casa Fagliano partnering with JLC was a calculated move in the luxury direction, incepting a partnership that has equally benefited both brands by spreading their brand awareness amongst each other’s client base. These leather craftsman’s heritage is almost on par with that of the Jaeger-LeCoultre brand, which has been in operation since the year of 1883. “Casa Fagliano” is already a fourth-generation bootmaker that has been on a slower yet steady rise, thanks to the vision and handmade work ethics of brothers Eduardo and Hector Fagliano and their specialized staff. They are mainly know by polo enthusiasts around the world, but have sought out strategic collaborations such as this horology venture, in means to widen and diversify their clientele.
The 49mm case is made of 18k rose gold with a solid case back, with its iconic reversible portion that can be flipped to reveal either an exhibition case back within the case or another dial. This version as part of the “Duoface” models, belongs to the latter offerings by coming with two dial faces. For Jaeger-LeCoultre this recipe remains the same for one of its most iconic models, which requires no enhancements. Water-resistance on this watch can reach up to 30 meters (98 feet).
Time is exhibited on two distinct dials, which conveniently allows for two separate time-zones. On one side the main dial we see comes in a sun-brushed satin gray with gold-plated applied hour index markers, followed by smaller white printed railroad-motif minute index markers. There is a sub-seconds dial at the 6 o’clock position with a small 18k rose gold hand. The central dagger-style dauphine hands are also made of 18k rose gold.
On the flipside we find a silver dial with a “Clous de Paris” guilloché pattern. But, unlike the gray-side that utilized the whole surface of the dial; the silver-side is more constraint despite providing more information. There is a circular area with a plain interior that englobes gold plated hour index markers and dauphine hands, followed by a circular black rail-road motif minute index track. Plus a sub-dial with a a 24-hour scale that functions as a day/night indicator for the second time zone, with the words “NIGHT” and “DAY” engraved on the dial to opposite sides of the sub-dial.
