The latest summer release by Jaeger-LeCoultre is inspired by the iconic Memovox Polaris, which can be dated back to its 1965 debut. It now appears here with a captivating blue dial, while retaining minor details of various previous editions, resulting in a vintage-inspired yet modern “Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Date” with a stand-out blue dial.
Just last year in 2018 we saw Jaeger-LeCoultre roll-out a revamped Polaris collection, which included a chronograph, a worldtimer, plus a pair of three-handed pieces. Among them the “Jaeger-LeCoultre Date” (Ref#: 9068170) was the most reminiscent of the original, which is also the most similar to this latest release, as you can review to compare here.
The 42mm case is made of stainless-steel with a solid case back, which has been engraved with a SCUBA diving insignia, as well as technical details and the “Limited Edition – One of 800” inscription.
It comes equipped with the previously redesigned setting crowns that now provide a better grip.
The case has also been crafted with short faceted lugs and a thinner bezel with a rounded twist. All topped by a sapphire crystal which assists with water-resistance on this watch reaching up to 20 meters (65 feet).

The central steel hands, hour index markers and Arabic numerals have all been fitted with a patina vintage-style looking hue, which is actually a luminescent coating that provides an enhanced legibility. There is a date aperture at the 3 o’clock position.
Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Date Limited Edition
The “Jaeger LeCoultre Polaris Date Limited Edition” (Ref#: 9068681) is powered by the self-winding mechanical movement, caliber 899A/1 with 32 jewels, 219 components and 28,800 vph. Power reserve on this watch can last up to 38 hours, when fully wound.
Mounted to the watch is a blue rubber strap, secured to the wrist by a stainless-steel buckle. This is a limited edition watch with only 800 manufactured pieces, which will be sold exclusively in the US market and should become available starting September 1st, 2019.
