Once again IWC Schaffhausen is sponsoring the “Laureus World Sports Awards” as they have been since the events inception in 1999, along with fellow sponsor Mercedes-Benz. And as is tradition this noble and socially conscious event is further commemorated with a new limited edition timepiece, introducing the “IWC Mark XVIII “Laureus Sport for Good Foundation” 2018 edition.

These “Laureus Awards” celebrate the work of the “Laureus Sport for Good Foundation”, which supports over 100 community projects in sports throughout 40 countries. The aim of these projects is to use the power of sports to end violence, discrimination and disadvantage around the world. It’s named “Laureus” as a derivation from the Greek word for laurel, which was considered a traditional symbol of victory in athletics. A portion of the sales off these watches will go towards supporting the “Laureus Sport for Good Foundation”.
