A year after Hublot teamed up with Berluti to use strap material as a dial, they’re back! Seems like the patina seeping thru is either gorgeous, or not a reason for concern because this time around they’re taking their leather dial further, introducing the new: “Hublot Classic Fusion Chronograph Berluti”.

Molding this watch into a chronograph was the main challenge, due to its material never having been tested for long periods of time; leading some to believe these watches could witness the leather become illegible. But, after various testing and the success of their previous and first leather dial watch, the “Hublot Classic Fusion Berluti”, we also reviewed at the time of its release, they decided to proceed.

The 45mm case is available in either: 18k king gold or black ceramic with a transparent case back. Equipped with two push-pieces to operate the chronograph movement and a crown in between them. There are 6 visible screws on the fixed bezel, followed by 4 more exposed screws that are placed near the lugs. Watch is covered by a scratch resistant sapphire crystal and water-resistance on this timepiece can reach up to 50 meters (164 feet).
Time is exhibited on either a: genuine brown or black Berluti patinated Venezia leather with scritto décor and embossed hour index markers; as well as minute index markers circling this very unique dial. This trademark scritto design has brought on a whole new layer of intricacy, to be admired for its craftsmanship. There is a sub-seconds at the 3 o’clock position and a 30-minute counter at the 9 o’clock position.
The indications “Automatic” and “Swiss Made” can be seen near the 6 o’clock positon; while the Hublot logo can be seen embossed at under the 12 o’clock position. The hands are also made of either 18k king gold or black ceramic, matching the case material of each version; while the seconds hand has been embellished with the Hublot “H” logo on it.
