As the vintage trends pursue Graham returns to market with four new editions to their “Chronofighter” model line. All of which are numbered limited editions of only 250 pieces per model; introducing the new “Graham Chronofighter Vintage Aircraft Ltd”.

The 44mm cases on these watches are made of aged steel with a gray PVD, which attribute them with a distinctive and unique look unlike other vintage inspired timepieces. They come equipped with the trademark Graham start/stop trigger for the chronograph function and the iconic onion crown surround by a crown guard. These elements make the watch wear a lot larger than its 44mm size, while slightly resembling a “grenade” which makes the moniker “Chronofighter” quite appropriate. Water-resistance on this watch can reach up to 100 meters (330 feet).

These latest models are very similar to the previously reviewed “Graham Chronofighter 15th Anniversary Edition”. Although most of the similarities reside in the dial layout, after which the distinctions set in to place. Like the use of denim on strap, instead of leather. Or, the overall aged steel vintage themed looked, instead of the more polished stainless-steel aesthetic.

Time is exhibited on a varying colored dial depending on which of these new four editions we’re focusing in on. But, all of them have applied long rectangular hour index markers, except for the dotted hour index markers at the 3 and 9 o’clock positions and the Arabic numeral for the 12 o’clock position. They are followed by smaller minute index markers, circling around the dial.

There are two sub-dials: a small sub-seconds at the 3 o’clock position and a quite larger 30-minute counter at the 6 o’clock position. A two window day and date aperture can be seen aligned with the 9 o’clock position, with the limited edition number of each individual piece engraved under them. The hands, numeral and hour index markers have all undergone a luminescent coating, for an enhanced legibility.

The chosen colors are meant to mimic the tones of old aircraft’s from the 1930’s and 40’s with a riveted finish. Spanning along the models the color schemes go from: red highlights, to green highlights, to a blue toned version. All of them with a radial finish, growing darker as they extend towards the edges; despite the overall tone or highlights of each version. Other applied nuances can be seen in the use of either white or the more vintage seeming beige Super-LumiNova coating.
