For those in search of a patriotic watch option, Graham timepieces manufacture has just joined forces with the Navy SEALS. One of the most feared and respected military forces in the world. In order to issue a special limited edition watch, which will see a percentage of each sale revert towards the Navy SEAL Foundation. It’s a form of giving back to those who protect our great nation, by assisting their community, veterans and families with service programs.

The “Graham Chronofighter Oversize Navy SEAL Foundation Limited Edition Watch” has a 47mm steel case, with a black PVD and high grip rubber pattern. The bezel is black ceramic with a doomed sapphire crystal. So, admirers of Graham’s Chronofighter model still get the large case with a left-side crown and start/stop trigger, made in black carbon and steel for this special edition. The materials were chosen with the needs of the Navy SEAL’s in mind. Testing endurance in extreme climate conditions be they in land, sea or air. And opting for darker color schemes to allow for melding discreetly into whatever surrounding environment needs the SEAL’s intervention. This watch comes mounted to a black rubber strap with a pin buckle made of black ceramic, maintaining its dark incognito look.

Focusing on the dial we find a pixelated grey-scale camouflage pattern with the Navy SEAL Foundation logo at the 11 o’clock position. The chronograph displays a grey central counter hand and a 30-minute totalizer at the 6 o’clock position. While another sub-dial exhibits the small-seconds at the 3 o’clock position. There’s also a round date window at the 8 o’clock position. The hands are coated with a black superluminova for increased legibility, but a minor glow in order to not catch an “enemy’s” eye. The only dash of color on this predominantly stealth dark watch appears on its caseback, where we find an etching of the American Flag and the Navy SEAL Foundation logo.

A distinctive feature on this timepiece is the inclusion of a: telemetric scale. A telemeter is a scale that circles the bezel just like a tachymeter, but this meter is used for measuring the distance of an object, by timing how long it takes the sound from the object in question to reach your location. In practical situations, this meter could be used to decipher the distance between one’s location and the location of where the “sparks, lightning, action” is taking place, by counting down the difference between light and sound. Since this is a military watch, it is a pertinent and useful feature towards the troops the watch is giving tribute to.
