Breitling’s Colt collection was conceived with action scenarios in mind. It was designed to conquer feats and endure diverse thrills. But, these are details well know about this brand and model line. The novelty factor comes in the form of its “all black” demeanor. Although the wow factor of going “dark” has diminished, since becoming one of the biggest 2016 trends in watches. The 44mm round case is made of satin-brushed steel, which has undergone a high-resistance carbon-based coating, giving it a ‘blacksteel’ look. It features a large screw-locked crown fitted with protective reinforcements and a unidirectional rotating bezel. Also includes two pushers on the right-side of the case, which operate the chronograph mechanism.

Another element that sets this timepiece apart is the four “rider tabs”, which is a signature Breitling feature. It assures a reinforced handling of the rotating bezel and optimal protection of the sapphire crystal glareproofed on both sides. It’s no doubt a watch that enjoys flaunting its military origins.

The volcano black dial is highlighted by a fine circular raised motif. Time is told via oversized hour index markers and hands, all treated with a SuperLuminova coating for an enhanced legibility. There is also a red central chronograph seconds hands, for other timing purposes. A date aperture can be seen at the 3 o’clock position. Also includes three sub-dials: a 12-hour counter at the 6 o’clock position; a sub-seconds at the 9 o’clock mark; and a 30-minute counter at the 12 o’clock position. A white minute railroad ring circles around the dial.

This “Breitling Colt Chronograph Automatic Blacksteel” (Ref#: M1338810|BF01|109W|M20BASA.1) is powered by a self-winding mechanical movement, caliber Breitling 13, with 25 jewels and 28,800 vph. Power reserve on this timepiece can last up to 42 hours and water-resistance can reach up to 200m (660 feet). Mounted to this watch is the option of either a: leather strap, Diver Pro, Ocean Racer or Professional bracelet.
