As the luxury car manufacturer Bentley prepares to launch their new “Bentley Continental Supersports” vehicle. Breitling once again joins the fun by issuing a new “Breitling Bentley Supersports B55” smartwatch.

The partnership between Breitling and Bentley began back in 2003, when the British luxury motorcar company launched the “Continental GT”, for which Breitling designed the dashboard clock for. Ever since then Breitling has been manufacturing Bentley themed wrist watches, to mark the occasion of major launches by the automobile titan.

This time around Bentley is about to unleash the new “Continental Supersports”, which will be the fastest Continental ever built by them. It will be able to reach speeds of 209 mph, with a 0 to 60 mph acceleration time of 3.4 seconds.

And Breitling has gone an elaborated a new variation on their first smartwatch the “Exospace B55”, which Breitling insisted wasn’t actually a smartwatch, though it can be “connected” to a smartphone to enable extra features.

Now, it returns and has been dubbed the “Bentley Supersports B55”. This timepiece is equipped with a: flyback chronograph, lap timer, 2nd timezone, 7 daily alarms, a battery-charge indicator and an electronic tachymeter.

But, the features don’t end there thanks to its digital enhancements. Once “connected” additional chronograph functions are enabled, like: a “chrono rally’ that serves to record up to 30 stages, complete with the departure date of the rally, start time, duration of each stage, intermediate time for each stage and capability to add in any occurring penalties;

or the “chrono race” function that allows to record the split times for each lap and be able to calculate the average speed per lap;

or even a “regularity rally” function that can come in very handy if the pilot wants to pre-define target times or intermediate times out of a total time. So, if the objective of a certain type of race/practice is to cover a given distance in a given time frame; you can check if these goals are being met, with the press of a button.

The 46mm case is made of titanium with a solid caseback and a detailed bezel. There are two pushers and a screw-down crown on this timepiece. Covered by a sapphire crystal glareproofed on both sides, which assists in keeping the watch water-resistant up to 100m (330 feet).

Time is exhibited on a carbon fiber dial with titanium applied index hour markers and a solitary Roman numeral at the 12 o’clock spot. There are two large ultra-legible LCD (liquid crystal display) screens equipped with a backlighting system that can be activated by pressing the crown or tilting the wrist. Hands and hour index markers have under gone a luminescent coating, for an enhanced legibility.

Breitling Bentley SuperSports B55

This “Breitling Bentley Supersports B55” (Ref#: EB552022/BF47/285S/E20DSA.2) is powered by a trademarked thermocompensated SuperQuartz movement, caliber B55, which runs off a rechargeable battery that can last up to 2 months. Mounted to the watch is a rubber Breitling TwinPro strap. This is a limited edition watch with only 500 manufactured pieces.
