The aviation team at Breitling is back with a new watch based on a four-wheeler, for their already iconic Bentley inspired series of timepieces. Following the numbered sequence they initiated, this new addition has been titled “Breitling Bentley B06 the Midnight Carbon” due to its quite dark toned dial. And continues to uphold the luxury standards consumers of Breitling and Bentley have come to expect.

The 49mm case is made of a satin-brushed stainless-steel case with a black steel bezel decorated with a knurled pattern inspired by the Bentley radiator grills. The bezel is also coated with a black high-resistance carbon-based material. This element provides more resistance towards shocks and abrasions. There are also two pushers to each side of the crown, in order to activate the chronograph movement.

Another highlight on this timepiece is the special 360° sculpted oscillating weight designed in the form of a wheel rim, which can be seen thru the exhibition caseback. Also the chronograph system can make the watch’s central hand sweep around the dial in half a minute, allowing for 1/8th of a second time readings. That’s a full sweep of the dial in half a minute. Breitling claims that this 30-second chronograph system is an exclusive for their brand. It can also decipher and measure the average speed over any interval of time.

We’re used to seeing tachymeters on rotating and fixed bezels, but Breitling has gone with a variable tachymeter, based on a circular slide, placed on the dial this time. Apparently another exclusive for this timepiece and their brand. In conjunction with the chronograph it allows to measure the average speed of the time elapsed, distance covered and the overall attained speed.

The mother-of-pearl dial with an overall dark-blue tone, surrounded by the black case and matte finished counters crafted from ebony is quite enthralling. But, there are red and white accents and Arabic numerals for an extra pizzazz and enhanced legibility; accompanied by hour index markers and hands featuring a SuperLuminova coating. There are three sub-dials: a 15-minute counter near the 3 o’clock position; a 6-hour counter near the 6 o’clock position; and a sub-seconds at the 9 o’clock position. Also features a day-date between the 4 and 5 o’clock hour index markers.
