Although the Breitling brand is known for its aviation timepieces, they aspire as much too new heights, as they do to reaching new depths. This “Breitling Avenger II Seawolf Blacksteel” watch was made to conquer the abyss with us attached to it. Originally the “Avenger II” debuted in 2013, but now it’s back in a limited edition blacksteel version.
For those who like scuba diving this Breitling is an ideal companion. Equipped with a unidirectional rotating bezel to calculate dive times and fitted with four rider tabs to facilitate handling even while wearing gloves. And if that wasn’t enough, the real deal sealer, for underwater enthusiasts comes in the form of a decompression valve capable of balancing out pressure differences inside and outside the watch.

The Breitling cobra yellow dial exhibits silver Arabic numerals, except at the 3, 6, 9 and 12 positions. Instead the 6 and 9 spot feature white hour index markers, while the 12 hour numeral has been substituted by its trademark upside down triangle. A white railroad minute track circles around the dial near the bezel. There is also a date aperture located at the 3 o’clock position. The oversized hands and hour index markers have a SuperLuminova coating, for an enhanced legibility. All covered by a thick cambered sapphire crystal glareproofed on both sides.
The satin-brushed black steel round 45mm case has a unidirectional ratcheted bezel attached. Also features a screw-locked crown with a non-slip grip and a valve with two gaskets serving to equal out pressure differences between the inside and the outside of the watch. The cambered sapphire crystal is glareproofed on both sides. While the screwed in caseback is another element reinforcing this watches precision and deep depth water-resistance that can reach up to an impressive 3000m (10,000 feet).
These “Breitling Avenger II Seawolf” watches are powered by a self-winding mechanical movement, caliber Breitling 17, with 25 jewels and 28,800 vph. Power reserve on this timepiece can last up to 40 hours and water-resistance can reach an impressive 3,000m (10,000 feet).
