The new Aerospace Evo model celebrates its 30th anniversary but, doesn’t really differ much from its previous incarnations. The case still features a carbon-saturated gunmetal-style finish, the mechanism is the same and the visual elements all seem to follow the guidelines we’ve come to expect from this line of Breitling watches.
What has been really offered were more color options, although even those aren’t new for those familiar with Breitling. The so-called “cobra yellow” had already been revealed for the “Emergency II SuperQuartz” model and now has become optional for the “Evo Night Mission SuperQuartz”. The biggest apparent difference is the dark-brown military-style strap with stitches in another tone of brown to stand-out, which attaches securely to the wrist with a folding clasp. You also have the option of a more traditional Volcano black dial, but the yellow is the newer, more alluring choice, but either one are an option.
The Breitling Aerospace Evo Night Mission SuperQuartz has a 43mm titanium alloy case, which make the watch very light-weight despite its size. The carbonized finished also renders this timepiece nearly scratchless, although a DLC coating would have been a safer bet. The rotating bezel has four rider tabs for a convenient timer adjustment. As for the crown its simple design hides multi-functions, such as: the possibility to correct the positions of the open-worked hour and minute hands; as well as, allowing to operate the digital functions of this watch and is decently protected by a pair of crown guards.
Besides the color options, the dial bears Arabic numerals and a pair of: NVG-friendly LCD displays, which allow for an easy and clear legibility. With a luminescent coating on most of the numerals and the watch hands to enhance the legibility even further, despite time of day or being in closed quarters. Other features included are: a countdown timer, second time-zone, alarm and a minute-repeater.
Breitling Aerospace Evo Night Mission SuperQuartz
The Breitling Aerospace Evo Night Mission SuperQuartz is powered by an ETA ThermoLine E10.451-based Breitling, caliber 79, “SuperQuartz” movement. This mechanism is also the same used in similar incarnations of this model, but it warrants to mention that this is one of the most accurate quartz mechanisms currently available on the market and is COSC certified. This timepiece is a limited edition of 300 pieces.
