Breguet - POST

Breguet is at Baselworld 2016 with a couple of interesting offerings for this time around. We’ve chosen four distinct models, with some similar aspects to focus on. Each one has its own particular complications and enchanting intricacies, but they all tell time, while providing technical expertise and ornate, detail-oriented aesthetics. Scroll down and take a closer look at the: “Breguet Classique 7147”, “Breguet Hora Mundi 5727”, “Breguet Tradition 7087” and the “Breguet Type XXI”.

The 44mm case is made of 18k rose gold with a carefully fluted caseband and welded lugs with screw bars, similar to the “Classique 7174” model. The sapphire caseback is double-paned and is a way to gaze in on the caliber movement. And then there is the interesting symphonic complication of a minute-repeater to add some melodious beats.

The small silvered 18k gold dial has an engine turned pattern (in essence it’s the dial found on the “Classique 7174” but in a miniature version) offset at the 2 o’clock position. And contains its black Roman numerals and the classic Breguet open-tipped hands in blued steel. The rest, which is the majority of the dial is an open work, skeletonized look, with a tourbillon.

The 42mm case with a fluted caseband is made of stainless-steel. Also features rounded lugs, a screw-locked crown and a bidirectional rotating bezel. The sapphire caseback allows to view the inner movement. Water-resistance on this timepiece can reach up to 100 meters (330 feet).

The slate grey dial reveals a certain repressed look that nonetheless manages to deter from the busyness of the dial. Time is told via Arabic numerals and hands with a luminescent coating. Also features: a day/night sub-dial indicator at the 3 o’clock position, a 12-hour counter and date at the 6 o’clock position and a sub-seconds dial at the 9 o’clock position.
