We’ve highlighted it before and once again Bell & Ross brings a motorsport themed timepiece to the horology market. This time they’re introducing two new models under the “Bellytanker” theme.

So, even though Bell & Ross has teamed up with Renault for a couple of timepieces to date like these. They still keep things slightly interesting by venturing out of the popular Formula 1 and Nascar competitions; opting for experimental vehicles and lesser know events. Like the “Bellytanker” which is a vehicle built from a fuel tank of a fighter plane, fitted with an engine and four wheels, making it a streamline racer. They are mostly used for speed trails on the huge salt lake flats of the North American West.

The 38.5mm case is made of stainless-steel with brushed steel marks, similar to those watches that with were made during the 1940’s and 50’s. But, it’s also been designed to resemble the cockpit interior for the P-51 Mustang. It’s an overall simple design, similar to previous Bell & Ross models that have integrated their so-called “Vintage” collection. Opting for this more tradition look, instead of the signature circle in a square Bell & Ross has become iconic for; assisting the brand in standing-out among other competitors. Water-resistance on this watch can reach up to 100 meters (330 feet).

Time is exhibited on a gilt colored dial with the hour index markers and the Arabic numerals: 3, 6, 9 and 12. A black railroad style ring can be seen circling the dial with white minute index markers. There is also a round date aperture between the 4 and 5 o’clock positions. The metal skeletonized hour and minute hands are filled with Superluminova, for an enhanced legibility.

Bell & Ross BR V1-92 Bellytanker
This “Bell & Ross BR V1-92 Bellytanker” (Ref#: BRV192-BT-ST/SCA) is powered by a self-winding mechanical movement, caliber BR-CAL.302 with 25 jewels and 28,800 vph. Power reserve on this timepiece can last up to 38 hours, when fully wound. Mounted to the watch is a brown calfskin strap, secured to the wrist by a stainless-steel pin buckle. Next up we have a 41mm case made of stainless-steel with a satin-polished finish. Its transparent sapphire caseback allows to view the inner workings of the mechanical movement. Mounted to the case is a stainless-steel bezel with a tachymeter scale engraved to it. Also comes equipped with two push-buttons to engage the chronograph functions. Plus a screw-down crown which assists in keeping this watch water-resistant up to 100 meters (330 feet).

Bell & Ross BR V2-94 Bellytanker
This “Bell & Ross BR V2-94 Bellytanker” (Ref#: BRV294-BT-ST/SST) is powered by a self-winding mechanical movement, caliber BR-CAL.301 with 37 jewels and 28,800 vph. Power reserve on this timepiece can last up to 42 hours, when fully wound. Mounted to the watch is an either a: satin-polished steel bracelet or a brown calfskin strap; both options are secured to the wrist by a stain-polished steel folding buckle.
