Bell & Ross continues to diversify its offering with creations that continue to preserve its core aesthetics, while differentiating itself enough to appear novel. The “BR05 collection” was introduced with a series of dials that kept it simple, but now they’ve exposed their inner-workings with this skeleton dial version.

We recently reviewed this collection in all its various iterations, while highlighting the sunburst finish blue dial as you can read more about here. As aforementioned in essence the goal of the “BR 05” model is to be positioned somewhere between a “dress watch” and a “sports watch”. But, despite its simple design concept some have accused of being a doppelganger for the popular, much  higher price point “Patek Philippe Nautilus” model.

The 40mm case is made of stainless-steel with a satin-polished finish all crafted in a shape reminiscent of the classic Bell & Ross circle in a square format, but not quite. Mounted to the case is a fixed square bezel with exposed screws. On the flip-side we have an exhibition case back, which allows to view the inner workings of the mechanical movement and continues the exposed theme found on its dial.

It comes equipped with a setting-crown surround by a crown guard, which give the case an overall concise and compact look. The crow has also been engraved with ampersand logo that Bell & Ross are renown for. All topped by a sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating, which also assists with water-resistance on these watches reaching up to 100 meters (330 feet).

Time is exhibited on a skeleton dial that lets leaves all its intricacies exposed to the delight of the user and possible wandering eyes. Reading the current time is facilitated by steel applied hour index markers.

Among the gears and grinds we can spot several purple colored jewels, while hovering above it engrave directly on the sapphire crystal is the “Bell & Ross” logo. The central steel hour, minutes hands and hour index markers have all undergone a luminescent filling, for an enhanced legibility.
