Stars have guided many travelers towards new lands and we’ve even drawn up many gods while connecting them to one another like dots. Time has always benefited from these shiny spectacles in the sky. And now Italian horology manufacturer Bell & Ross has been inspired to take these twinkling lights and place them on a women’s timepiece; introducing the: “Bell & Ross Diamond Eagle”.

Bell & Ross have been known for their aviation themed timepieces, but they’ve also ventured into motor-sports with Renault. There is even a motorcycle they envisioned and made a reality, as we can see it racing the deserts. And this year we’ve already seen the release of a car meets jet themed timepiece and the prototype vehicle to go with it. But, Bell & Ross seem to have some more deviations up their sleeves and in comes a duo of ladies watches with a mythological celestial sphere theme; for these “Bell & Ross Diamond Eagle’s”.

The iconic round dial set in a 39mm stainless-steel square case can be had with two variations: one with and one without the 66 diamonds (totaling 0.99 carats) encrusted into the bezel surrounding the dial. The bezel and case have undergone an alternating polished and satin-finish to better contrast between one another and provide more visual depth. The caseback provides technical information, such as: water-resistance reaching up to 100m (330 feet); its reference number; case material and the contours of the Aquila constellation are engraved on it.

The “BR-S Diamond Eagle” is a new ladies model with a vibrant midnight blue dial with diamond accents. And this blue ‘soleil’ sunray pattern with a blue-tinted varnish as a finishing color has been an inspired decision by Bell & Ross. It manages to replicate the colors of the night and its stars with a mystical quality and among this mesmerizing background are the shinny diamonds.

What at first seems like a random scattering of stones over the dial, actually gives way to a special pattern. The 7 diamonds trace out the Aquila constellation in the northern sky. ‘Aquila’ signifies ‘eagle’ in Latin and it represents the bird that carried Zeus (King of the Gods) or Jupiter’s (God of the skies) thunderbolts in Greco-Roman mythology.

Other than these sparkling diamonds the dial has a simple and contained look. There are no numerals just 12 smaller set stones serving as hour index markers and two slim hands with a sleek design, matching the case tone.

The “Bell & Ross” logo can be seen and read from the center of dial towards the 3 o’clock position; and the “Swiss Made” trademark is in its usual location near the 6 o’clock position. Overall a quite alluring design, bond to captivate and serve as a tasteful women’s accessory.
